This app is built to keep your contacts current without giving up your privacy. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what you can control. No legalese.
The short version
- Your contacts are yours. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising — ever.
- Analytics are off until you say yes, and you can change your mind anytime in Settings.
- Even with analytics on, personal details (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses) are masked and never shared with third parties.
What we collect, and why
Your account
Your name, pronouns, and email address. We need these to create your account and let you sign in. There are no passwords — you sign in with a passkey or a one-time email link.
Your contacts
The contact details you add or that people submit through your share link. This is the whole point of the app, so we store it to provide the service. It's kept on your device (so the app works offline) and in our database so it can sync across your devices.
Anonymous usage analytics (only if you allow it)
If you opt in, we collect anonymous information about how the app is used — which features get used, and errors or crashes that happen — tied to a random ID, not to your identity. This may include session replays (a playback of how the screen was used) to help us reproduce bugs. In all of it, your personal information and your contacts' details are masked before anything is sent, so they stay private. We use this only to find bugs and improve the experience.
Cookies and local storage
We use a secure sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, on-device storage to hold your contacts so the app works offline, and a small note of your analytics choice. If you opt into analytics, our analytics provider also stores identifiers needed to do that. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
The help we get to run the app
To run the app we rely on a few trusted service providers. They only ever handle your data to do a specific job for us, and can't use it for anything else:
- Hosting & database — to store and serve your account and contacts.
- Email delivery — to send your sign-in links and notifications.
- Analytics (only if you opt in) — to measure usage and catch bugs, always with personal details masked.
- Address lookup (optional) — to suggest addresses as you type the address.
We're happy to name the specific providers on request.
Your choices and rights
- Turn analytics on or off anytime under Settings. If you opt out, we stop collecting and tell our provider to do the same.
- Export your data as a CSV or vCard at any time.
- Delete contacts, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
Keeping it safe
Sign-in is passwordless (passkeys or one-time email links), sessions use signed, encrypted cookies, and access to your contacts requires being signed in. We keep your data only as long as your account exists or as needed to run the app.
Children
This app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
